Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only work with foreign travellers?

Our consultation service is mainly designed for international travellers, but we’re happy to work with Italian travellers as well.

When should I book my consultation?

Ideally 1-2 months before your trip, especially for the busy June -September period.

Is Sardinia safe?

The best months are May, June and September, but spring and early autumn are also wonderful. From late March to April the island is in bloom, Easter brings unique traditions like the Holy Week rituals, and many places reopen for the season. Until October you can still enjoy warm weather and the sea. Winter is quieter for tourism but rich in local traditions, especially the historic Carnival celebrations in the inland villages.

What’s the best time to visit Sardinia?

Yes, Sardinia is considered a very safe destination. Serious incidents are extremely rare and visitors often describe the island as welcoming and friendly. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, you’ll feel safe exploring Sardinia.

Do I need a car in Sardinia?

Unless you stay only in main cities or in well-connected areas, renting a car (or camper) is the best way to explore Sardinia. Having your own vehicle lets you reach inland villages, archaeological sites and hidden beaches at your own pace. We’ll advise on the best rentals, ferries, routes and parking tips.

Can I request a consultation even if I already have part of my itinerary planned?

Absolutely. We can review and refine what you’ve already planned, adding suggestions, contacts, and local tips.

Do you offer on-the-ground support during my trip?

Yes, depending on the consultation option chosen, we can be available for last-minute advice or adjustments while you’re travelling.

Why choose Sardinia Like a Local for authentic experiences?

Sardinia is full of treasures beyond the beaches: 7,000 nuraghi, village festivals, local wineries, artisans and cultural events that are often hard to find online. With us you access authentic experiences: tasting local food, joining traditional events, meeting artisans at work, or exploring archaeological sites with expert guides.

Still curious? Our FAQs cover the essentials, but the best way to start is by exploring our Plan Your Trip page, and from there, your Sardinia journey begins.

What does slow travel in Sardinia mean?

Slow travel in Sardinia doesn’t mean doing less – it means living more. It’s about enjoying dream beaches at the right moment, visiting archaeological sites with time to understand them, and spending a day in a village at its own rhythm. It’s not rushing, but experiencing. This is the spirit of slow travel Sardinia: quality over quantity.

What happens after I send the questionnaire?

We’ll review your answers, prepare an initial proposal, and guide you through the next steps to create your tailor-made itinerary.

Why should I pay for your service if I can plan online?

Of course you can research on your own. But we filter and personalize: no generic lists, just a tailor-made itinerary with trusted local contacts. You save time, avoid mistakes, and enjoy experiences at the right moment. Plus, we’ve been promoting Sardinia on Instagram and local projects for over 10 years, this insider knowledge is our real added value.
